Needle Felted Ice Cream

If you were reading my previous post I said I was going to try to make a dish of needle felted ice cream for my kids bus driver, to go along with an ice cream gift card. Well here is how it turned out! It's strawberry ice cream with whipped cream and (my favorite)....a cherry! It was fun to make, I hope she likes it! :)

On the agenda for today: Teacher and Bus Driver gifts. My kids bus driver mentioned that her favorite ice cream place is the Meadows.  So I plan to give her a gift certificate and needle felt a dish of ice cream to go with along with it.  Searching the web for inspiration I came across this cutie patootie ice cream bear by riamelin on Flickr.  Isn't he just adorable???

I will show you a picture of how my felted ice cream experiment turns out later on today :)

My friend Tina and I took a class at Flying Fibers to learn to spin our own yarn. It was fun and very interesting to find out how it's done. Here is what I am making with mine. A cowl using the broomstick stitch (Broomstick Lace). I like how it's turning out but I'm glad I have until winter to get it done, since I need to spin more yarn on the drop spindle and I'm not-so-fast at that yet!!lol
